We certainly don't know what Hippocrates had in mind when he said that but we believe one food in his listo could have been no other than garlic : a remedy of all times, a must in any kitchen.
It's been a pleasant surprise to received a few feedbacks from some customers saying our garlic has the aroma and the fragrance they had long lost from their memories. Crushed or sliced, stir fried or roasted, ADAMS Organic garlic are like garlic from our childhood kitchen. They are smaller than the conventional ones but because they grow slowly and naturally under the soil for a longer time, they have time to absorb more of the essential substances to make them simply more aromatic.
The active compound in garlic, the allicin only forms when garlic is crushed or cleaved when it is raw. If you cook it before crushing it, then it won’t have the same health effects.
Therefore, best way to consume garlic is raw, or to crush and cut it and leave it out for a while before you add it to your recipes.
Press a few cloves of fresh garlic with a garlic press, then mix with extra virgin olive oil and a bit of salt. This a healthy and super satisfying dressing for your salads or vegetable grills or maybe a spread on your toast!
But one recommendation : just because it has so many benefits it does not mean that consuming more than anybody else will make you the healthiest. The minimum effective dose for therapeutic effects is one clove eaten with meals, two or three times a day.
